This is the second book to feature DI Jack Caffery (after Birdman). It is shocking and gruesome and absolutely impossible to put down. This fearless British suspense novelist goes where no others dare in this violent, disturbing, harrowing novel with a denouement that is not for the sensitive. A brilliant work. This is a sequel to Birdman, which I advise reading first, although this novel is stand-alone.
