CONTENT: What can I say...this is little short of pure porn. Which is okay...except when you read the reviews of "beautiful love story," "masterpiece," etc! I will give it credit that it had a somewhat better story line than most porn, but mostly just sex. And Jewel, in spite of her past, was more than willing to instantly jump into bed with this "god"...oh, please. Drama queen, over-the-top dialogue and descriptions everywhere. A definite eye-rolling experience...with lots of no-holds-barred, crudely descriptive sex.
CHARACTERS: Jewel is a loser nympho who follows demeaning orders and thinks about little but sex. Johnny is an abusive creep who loves to give orders for less than "loving" sex acts...and can seemingly do this at ANY time, all day long? I didn't like either of them, obviously. I can't believe Jewel, or anyone, would just let him order her around like that.
Jewel's over-the-top use of crude, uneducated, stereotypical country language also really started to grate before I reached halfway. Way overdone.
WRITING: Well, I stopped clipping errors early, with 21 in 262 LOC of 1611. They ran the gamut with frequent totally incorrect word usages. It needs a serious edit, including for content as she had Johnny using a corkscrew to open champagne. Um, nope.
And frankly, I think it's physically impossible to have sex and intense orgasms that often, especially for a male. Sorry to get graphic.
She also used that dreaded "you slept with him?" phrase...which was as far from "sleeping" as one can get in this case. And she replied with something like "yes, 5 times." You can "sleep" five times? Please grow up and use the word sex. And learn proper word use and grammar, sorry.
FORMAT: Typeface select was fine but fully justified. It was also double spaced, which I hate. Too many page turns...and it looks weird to me. Why?
MISC: Again, misleading reviews at Amazon. I did NOT find this a sweet, wonderful love story in ANY way. And it's certainly far from a masterpiece. It was...basically, sexually abusive porn between two people with "issues." And it's NOT love, it's LUST.

“This book has a surprisingly deep plot for an erotic romance. Hero and heroine are damaged, and an incredible span of events is included in this novella length book. The writing is tight and concise without any wasted or fluff words.”Kenra Daniels wrote this review Monday, February 11, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
