Let me just say now- if I wasn't a John Hayden fangirl before, I certainly am now. He's just the right balance of bad ass Underworld deity and considerate, protective boyfriend. Quiet capable of civility, but primal when necessary.
Now that we have that out of the way, let's move on to the story, shall we. First, so much action in this installment. There wasn't a dull moment. Between the Fury attacks, over-flowing Underworld -to say nothing of the dangers to all the living folks- I couldn't stop reading. Another wonderful part of of this story is the addition of Thanatos, who don't actually get to meet, but is still a fascinating and central part of the story.
Karma is almost its own character in this book. I don't think there is a single person who doesn't get what they deserve.
Pierce definitely comes into her own in this final installment. She's always been a strong, independent heroine, but she takes it to the next level here. Not only does she have herself, John, Alex (whom I adore in this book), and her parents to look out for, but the whole of the Underworld as well. There was no whining or complaining. Just a teenager girl in over her head and making the best of it. Overall, love the end of this trilogy, but hate that it's ending.”
