“This is the first book in the Tom Hillpert, Lake Superior Series. I believe there are only 2 books at this time. Jonah is a small town pastor of the local Luthern church. He is smart, attractive, fisherman, young and a gourmet cook. His wife was murdered 5 years ago and he has taken this last 5 years to grieve. He is a successful pastor. He even has a love interest. I felt some of the happenings in this book were a bit over the top. ****SPOILER**** It seemed to me that somewhere along the line someone would have figured out what the DA and the sherif deputy were up to. Then again, Jonah couldn't have been our hero. I enjoy Jonah's interaction with all the ppl in the town. His secretary and he have some interesting conversations which were funny and light and these conversations were not overdone like so many novel do. I really liked the cover of the book...it does remind me of Lake Superior. I gave this book a 4.5. If you would like to read a light hearted mystery set in a small town with some interesting characters, this might be the book for you.”
