In Peter's Angel, the settlers have a treaty with the British not to attack one another. But when they find a gold mine the Duke can't resist. The Brits take the mine and some land surrounding it. All who resist are taken and sold as slaves. On one of the lands, Peter leads a small army to see what is going on. When the British troops start harassing the farmers, Peter engages in battle with them. Seeing that they are vastly outnumbered, Peter takes three men and rides for reinforcement. Little did he know, they were traitors waiting for the perfect moment to capture him. After falling off his horse and going unconscious he wakes bound and gagged. After being forced to sign a ransom note, Peter fades into unconsciousness again. Meanwhile, outside the window of his imprisonment, a young boy hears it all and plans to rescue him. When all the guards are gone, he does exactly that. But, not wanting to be recognized, he does not tell him his name. After bringing him to a point where he could get home of his own, he seemingly disappears. After getting back and settling things with the British, Peter sets out to find his 'angel'. As the book ends, the search is still continuing.
