Read this book! Then read it again! Then give it to your neighbor and have them read it! Lee, Longstreet and Little Round Top, need I say more.

This book was rather blasé (it was required for AP US History), but it did help me understand the thinking behind many of the key actions in the Battle of Gettysburg.

This book takes an indepth look at the leaders and players of the Civil War. It looks past what was happening, and takes a look at what each soldier was thinking and feeling during the war. It was fantastic.

I admit it. We read this one in high school and I never returned the book because I loved it so much. I wasn't into history too much until this book fell into my hands. Dramatic and touching, this story of Gettysburg is impossible to put down.
