I had one person tell me this is "boy book." But I really enjoyed it. I found the details of the war interesting, but I had the advantage of knowing I was going to see Gettysburg in a month, so that really motivated me to read it. I thought it was especially written in the sense that you get a feel for several different characters as you read their first person thoughts. I was moved to tears several times as I walked where these men walked, particularly where Pickett's charge ended. A great civil war book!
