Jeff Shaara has made a book that is almost as good as The Killer Angels! He Shows the last years of the war in beautiful style, I want to read it again and again!

Relished it more than "The Killer Angels" and still think that everyone should read it.

Okay, in my review of Gods and Generals, I said that Jeff wasn't as good a writer as his father, but I think by the time he started in on The Last Full Measure he had grown as an author because like The Killer Angels, I am having a hard time putting this one down. Well done!

Amazingly, this book is as well written and ingenious as its inspiration, Michael Shaara's book "The Killer Angels". Written in the same style, it continues where "The Killer Angels" ended, telling the accounts of key figures through the end of the Civil War. I found this book to be beautifully written and highly readable. I recommend it highly to anyone who enjoyed "The Killer Angels".

Anyone who is a Civil War buff needs to read this entire series to understand the perspective of the Civil War from both sides, from the eyes of the men who fought it.. The historical detail and accuracy was incredible. When I checked it out of the library I could not believe they had filed it in "fiction" instead of history. The accounts in the book are taken from Civil war records as well as the notes, diaries and papers of the men who fought the war. Riveting.
