    ماه و آتش داستان نداری است و شوق زندگی. پاوزه پیش از خودکشی در هتلی در تورینو با نوشتن این شاهکار به یاد ماندنی نشان می دهد که چقدر زندگی را دوست می دارد. زندگی ای که به او هیچ نداد جز شکست. عشق او به زندگی در حدی بود که نمی توانست به کمتر از کمال آن تن بدهد و سرانجام نیز سرنوشت خود را این چنین رقم زد: درهتلی در تورینو، با مصرف داروی خواب آور، با نوشتن یادداشتی کوچک برای کسانی که دوست داست
