OK...I tried. I really did. But after two attempts with this "beloved by many" series, I just could not get into it. And I feel bad. I wanted to like this. That's why I tried more than once to read this first book. But I guess I just enjoy a bit more action in my stories. I found this one to be very dull and quite boring. I couldn't even finish it.

I just read mary g's note about the audio of At Home In Mitford. I also listened to it years ago. I love that reader - he IS Father Tim. I've made it a point to always listent to the audios of those books. I was taking a trip one time and had to take the book instead of the audio - I wasn't disappointed and hadn't known that there a little drawings inside the books - but I could still "hear" Father Tim's voice. Besides that, I usually have a big smile on my face as I'm driving down the road - people either think I'm crazy or the smile gets contageous. :-) Of course, periodically I also have tears in my eyes - have to pull over then and get a tissue.
