I have read four books in original by Guy de Maupassant: The Horla (I had nightmares after reading it for ages), The Necklace and other short stories, Boule de Suif (sordid and bawdy characters) and this pearl in French literatur crown, "Bel Ami". I don't know why I am so taken in Maupassant works. Perhaps I noticed his obsession and the unavodiable shadow of his madness and that sign of "follie" mesmerised my mind, so I could immerse myself into his tortured world. His stories are usually...
