Sorry, call me a sap, but nothing compares to this book. I read it a few years ago and wanted to be in the story. I enjoyed that Noah and Allie, though completely romantic, were not the "perfect" couple. They argued, had their issues, and were human. It is truly my favorite book in the world.

I saw the movie before I read the book. I liked the book, but I liked the movie better. Nicholas Sparks is still a genius.

I am reviewing The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. This book is a really good love story. It shows how Noah and Allie had true love that never left them. They had fallen in love one summer when she was visiting and the story is told from Noah about their life when she comes back to visit even though she is going to get married to her fiance, and she has to pick between them. It also is being told from a point of view of Noah at a elderly age.The only thing that made it difficult to understand is sometimes they switch from the past to the present and I didn't always get it, but besides that it was a great book!

I read the Notebook after oxygen keeps on replaying the movie repeatedly. It is another romantic novel written by Nicholas Sparks. The book’s plot is actually very similar to The Great Gatsby as a rich girl and a poor boy fell in love with each other. However, in this case, the book was more focused on romance and feelings instead of social and family problems. Noah and Ally, the protagonists in the story, met in a summer carnival and Noah fell in love with Ally immediately. Ally but reluctant at first, but was later moved by Noah’s charms and down-to-earth personality. The two spent an amazing summer together until Ally’s parents found out about Noah. The summer love then quickly ended as Ally returned to the city and left Noah. Noah and Ally took a long time readjusting to their lives as Noah went away to another city and worked. Ally worked as a nurse during the war and later fell in love with a patient she treated. Then, as things were finally settling for Ally, she saw Noah’s face on a local newspaper. She drove back to the little town and met Noah again. I’m going to stop here because I don’t want to give away the ending. The story is very well written as the imageries and the use of words really grasped my attention to the plot and the characters. I would recommend you to watch the movie also after you finish the book because the movie was so beautiful.

I've seen the movie. But, I am looking forward in reading it. I just hope that this copy is not the movie version...

I was not overly impressed with the book. Decided to read it after I saw the movie, and I was disappointed. Movie was actually MUCH better than the book. Hmm. Just not much to the book I guess.

I thought that this was going to be an average book that old ladies like. But once I started this book it kept me reading late into the night. I was pulling for Noah the whole time but could see why Allie made the choices she did. An amazing boook.

The movie and book were MAJOR tearjerkers for me. The book is actually told alot differently than the movie. You don't get to read about when they were young like you SAW in the film. But I truly love this book. Nicholas Sparks is a god.
