“The main story was original and enjoyable, however almost all the characters were nothing but stereotypes, which I saw as lazy writing and very distracting. I also felt there were too many “b” stories that I frankly just didn’t care about. Way to much depth into the folks running the crying Virgin Mary and Sinclair and the cooters, and so on. I just didn’t care and found myself more or less skimming those pages when that part of the story came on. Same with the competing buyer for Simmons Woods. I’m fine with the idea of there being another bidder to force a deadline that JoLayne and Tom had to worry about, but I don’t think going into detail about that other buyer and his motives was necessary.”

“This was my first book by this author and it will not make my favorites list. It did take some effort to finish it and there were a few times when I considered just putting it down and not finishing it but since I hate doing that I read to the end.
