• Jo Layne Lucks: She's one of two people who the lottery for 28 million dollars, a black woman w/ atheletic body especially her legs, used work as nurse at a hospital and now a veterinarian assistant, and has 47 turtles in an aquarium she captured at Simmons Wood. She's stubborn and when she makes a decision she sticks to it. She have wrong taste in men, she wary of any men who across her path, owns a shotgun taught by her father, and she let nothing phaze her. She plans to use the lottery money to make Simmons Wood a nature preserve.
• Tom Krome: He's a reporter at The Register covering the lottery winner in Grange and to interview Jo Layne Lucks. He's having an affair w/ Katie Battenkill, who's husband is a judge, and trying to serve his wife her divorce papers. He agreed to help Jolayne to recieve her lottery after she appeared beaten up at his motel room. He's photographic memory, not afraid to tell the truth way he sees it, and not great w' relationships.
• Sinclair: Kome's editor at The Register who assign him to cover and interview Jolayne as a lottery winner for Grange, Florida as a distraction. They don't really get along w/ each other. He went to find Kome, but he discovered an epiphany w/ Jolayne's turtles shell painted as the twelve apostles of Christ. His sister Joan and her husband Roddy lives in Grange.
• Demencio: He and her wife Trish owns a crying Virgin Mary shrine, different groups arrive to view this miracle, they wary of Jolayne because they think she's odd and wanted to mention of they business in the newspaper. He's a businessman that don't any competition w/ other mircales especially Shiner's mom oil stain Jesus's face or Dominck's stigmata.
• Mary Andrea Finley Krome: She's Kome wife, who doesn't want a divorce and Finley doesn't believe in getting divorce, and wants to be an actress. She travels alot on the road to audition for broadway, t.v., or movie and avoid recieving her divorce papers at any means necessary. She's quite an actress and gain a great acting role to jump start in acting career.
• Moffitt: He's a friend of Jolayne, who is interested in her, and works as ATF agent.He's a tall muscular and scary black man, he would do anything for Jolayne, and help her find the people who steal her lottery ticket.
• Bode Gazzer: He's the other winner of 28 million lottery that decide to steal Jolayne's ticket w/ his partner Chub, have a long history of felonies at early age and knows how to use firearms, and wanted to start a miltia to eliminate people who's not white.He have radical views about America that doesn't add up in history and have conspiracy theories about everything. His motto that his fault is bad blame another person for his misfortune.
• Katie Battenkill: She's the wife of Arthur Battenkil, having affair w/ Tom Kome, and deeply religious. She chosen to write a confession about her affair w/ Tom in great details to give her husband. She decided she loves her husband and give their marriage another shot.
• Shiner: He works at the Grab and Go where Jolayne purchase the winning lottery ticket, he dropout of high school, washout of Army's boot camp, and lives w/ his deeply religious mother. He decided to join the White Rebel Brotherhood w/ Bode and Chud for adventure, owns .22 merlin rifle, and not that bright in the head. When he decided to kidnapped Amber the Hooters waitress for Chub and they begin a possible friendship that he wanted to protect from Chub. He believes the hold of crap from Bode's racist poltics.

• Trish: the wife of Domencia, the owner of the crying Virgin scam, makes a good angel food cake, and thinks Jolayne is odd by her pet turtles. She is concern w/ money as her husband and handle any situation that would jeopardizes their profits or any opportunies to increase their business.
• Roddy: the husband of Joan
• Joan: the wife of Roddy and Sinclair's sister who works at The Register as editor. She's the one who gives Sinclair information about Jolayne winning the lottery in Grange.
• Tony: He's Amber boyfriend, who interfer w/ her tips from customers at Hooters by his antics such as kissing her on the job and taking steriods to bulge up to frighten customers, drives a Miata.

• Dominick Amador: A rival of Domencia for scam miracles, his scam involves stigmata of Christ w/ his hands and side bloody punctures, and latest actions involvesdrilling holes in his feet.
• Bernard Squires: go to guy for the mobster Richard Ice Pick Tarbone to purchase the Simmons Wood as business venture and his competitor is Jolayne who wants to create a nature preserve of Simmons Woods. He would do what is necessary to accomplish the purchase.
• Dana: Judge Arthur Battenkill's secretary and having an affair w/ her
• Clara Markham: a friend of Jolayne, who's a realtor in charge of Simmons Wood to be purchase through Simmons' children decision, and Jolayne and Bernard Squires are rivals for the transactions.

• Jerry Wicks: the mayor of Grange that wanted Jolayne to be interview by The Register to gain popularity for Grange besides their miracle scam.
• Tommy
• Arthur: a judge who having an affair w/ his two secretaries Dana and Willow, the husband of Katie Battenkill in return having affair w/ Kome, and he's extremely jealeous person. He tries to kill Kome two incidents by shooting up his apartment's windows and arson because Katie confess her affair w/ great detail of their sex lives to save their marriage.
