This book was good but I wasn't a page turner. The author really made me understand what a rape victim goes through...even long after it happens. Its a really depressing book but a true story.

Emotionally draining- cdertainly not for everybody. Best read by women who have a need to read about this subject. It would be extremely helpful to someone who is in need of (or is providing) support, hope, and encouragement in facing a similar horrifying experience. I admire the author's courage in writing this book- it will help others.

Couldn't rate this book...I couldn't handle reading it...Was too horrifying for me to experience what Alice went thru during her rape...

I had the opportunity to read this for a Women History Class. I recommend it for an older audience. It has very intense descriptions of Alice Sebold personal experiences. It is not peicullarly similar to the Lovely Bones, but I believe it makes it a little clearer how she came up with it.
It is very hard to read, but very worth it. It was nice to read a non sugar coated rape story with a continuing story not necessarily a happy ending. And in no way do I mean it is a depressing story but is definitely written by a realist.

Wow. Unbelievable what happened to this woman, and all the violence that followed her in her life. Hard to read, but worth it.

Almost as haunting as her previous book, the lovely bones, this one still gave me chills, as this is her memoir of being sexually assaulted as a college student.

This book was a very hard read. While the story was true, I found it brutally graphic and hard to get through. I appreciate the struggles Sebold has overcome in her life and admire her courage for sharing her story with the world. However, I finished the book with no emotions whatsoever. Not hope or pain, nothing. Lucky is truly a memoir in it's most raw form.

This was an amazing memoir of Alice Sebold's rape and the aftermath of it. I read this after reading The Lovely Bones. It helped me understand why she chooses such topics to write about.
