I read The Lovely Bones first, and I am glad that I read them in that order, as Lucky totally expains Sebold's reasons for writing The Lovely Bones. The other way around would have been odd, I think.

One of my all-time favorite books. It was horrifying in parts, but it was enthralling. Especialy for any young woman headed to college, while scary, it is a must-read.

Unabridged. Read by the author. A very good, heart rendering account of the author's rape, assault and her life afterwards.

This book had me hooked from page 1. I really don't know what I thought was so great about it, but it captivated me.

Alice Sebold's brutal experience with rape and it's aftermath. Difficult to read.

One of my favorite memoirs of all time. Her story is so haunting and it really stays with you for a long time after finishing it.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb. From what everybody was saying about this, you'd think that it would have been good. Instead, it was just dumb. The best thing about this book was that I learned what a sinkhole was.

This is such an amazing, horrifying story. I read it in one sitting, gasping aloud again and again.
