“Hey I did the rapist end up being convicted? I totally forget and I want to know without reading the book again. Thanks!!”
“This is her first book that I've read, and I have to say, I think her writing is amazing. She can be so funny about certain episodes in her life, depite the fact that they're in the same book in which she just describe her horribly brutal rape. I actually haven't finished it yet, but I've read most of it and plan to finish once the semester ends.”
“I have become a huge fan of Alice Sebold's writing. I heard huge reviews on Lovely Bones that reading that book I was immediately drawn to finding her other books. Lucky was fantastically written and I look forward to her future books.”
“I'll be honest..I hadn't read Lovely Bones when I started Lucky...I got a cheap copy of it at the used book store and just randomly picked it off my shelf one night before going to bed...big mistake.lol. For the most part the book wasn't that bad...but the first few chapters with the rape scene....really made it hard for me to sleep that night as I'm a single female LIVING ALONE! Books don't tend to get me all up in a panic like that...but those first few chapters really worked on my nerves....overall...I think this is a really important book for anyone to read..especially women.”
“Just started this book. I had read her other two books first, and liked them. ”
“I absolutely love this book, I couldn't put it down not one time. I would read this book over and over again. "Lucky" has lots of understanding about the world and the people in it.”
“Too real for me, I couldn't get past page 20 - the bulk of the reality that is rape.”
“I began reading this book yesterday and couldn't put it down. I am entranced by Susie's impressions of 'what is happening on Earth'. It certainly makes me ponder about what is and isn't important in daily life. I am drawn to the author's direction of this book...the process of grieving, details of Susie's Heaven, and the uplifting manner by which a sad circumstance is dealt with. Can't wait to get back to it...”
