A great little adventure story. Dirk Pitt is an instant love; I love his kinds of characters.

This is the first great Dirk Pitt book. Cussler isn't as polished here as he later becomes but the story is great.

This is another good Dirk Pitt action adventure on the high seas. Great intrigue and lots of suspense to keep you reading.

Fun book. I'm glad I read Pacific Vortex! first, b/c it clarifies a few minor details in The Mediterranean Caper. I'm now hooked on the series.

The first in a very long series of books about Dirk Pitt and his sidekick Al, this book offers a ton of insight to the rest of the series...

This is an early Dirk Pitt novel, published in 1973. You can tell this was written in the 70s by the brazen, crass talk of sex. He’s subtler in later writings. In this novel, Pitt is still in the Air Force, though he has been given long-term duty with NUMA.
