This was my favorite Shopaholic novel. It is probably the funniest and you feel more emotion for Becky than any of the others. Sophie Kinsella is at the top of her game with this book. If you love the Shopaholic novels than this one will surely be your favorite.

Her earlier books in this series are better than the later books.

This is very much like the others, Not too much stands out as memorable. Good book to lounge by the pool or on the beach

    Shopaholic – Ties the knot
    Book by Sophie Kinsella
    November 5, 2009
    Book review by Laura Yip

Becky continues her blundering, shallow ways in the world of high-fashion weddings. However if you have never read the first book – Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, you may feel lost so it is a good idea to start the series from the beginning. The sequel, Shopaholic starts off with Becky living together with her boyfriend, Luke. Finally, she has found her career calling as a personal shopper at Barney’s. Throughout the book, Becky is trying to help Suze plan her wedding.
Becky finds a marriage proposal from Luke when she catches Suze’s bouquet. Suddenly she finds herself caught in the middle of a dilemma – both sides of the family want to throw her a fabulous wedding - one in England and one at the Plaza in New York. The problem is that she can’t say no to both. And the biggest problem is that both weddings are planned on the same day.

This book doesn’t have any new ground to the story. She doesn’t grow up much and makes a lot of mistakes. As a reader, you watch Becky helplessly ruin her own life.
This book doesn’t have much of a plot either, but it shows you how Becky doesn’t know how to pick the right decisions as she continues to shop for items she can’t afford – and end up in debt. However, in the end of the book she gets saved from her stupidity – as she always displays throughout the series.

Shopaholic is a series that doesn’t make you enjoy the book because of the characters but it makes you enjoy the book because the joyfulness of living a wealthy lifestyle is something everyone dies for – and this book gives you a glimpse of it. The characters are fun and entertaining and they act like stereotypical wealthy people.
My favorite character of this book is Becky Bloomwood because she puts a smile on your face. She does that by the actions she takes, although they are not the brightest decisions, her actions are hilarious in a way that it is full of stupidity. Although she may not be the brightest character in this book, she makes me think of myself because Becky spends her money on things that are useless but you just want to spend your cash on something just to make yourself happy – and that’s like me.

This book is great for readers who are experiencing continuous taxing and depressing issues of life. It gives you an insight of the lifestyle one wants to experience – rich lifestyle (however with taxing issues), you end up meeting a wealthy person whom would help you out of it. This series gives you an idea of what people have to deal with in real life terms. I would recommend this book especially for girls because men would not understand this book. They would just assume that girls waste their money on everything – which may be true but girls would totally understand what it is like to spend their money on whatever because shopping makes you happy.

The shopaholic series never ceases to make me laugh. Lesson: Never keep a big secret whether or not you're still weighing on the pros & cons. Sometimes it pays to tell the truth; you'll never get to have the same great & happy ending as with the book's.

Shopaholic Ties The Knot is a very interesting book because the author describes things in a very precise and detailed way. Rebbecca Bloomwood is a financial journalist and meets Luke Brandon, Owner of a famous company - Brandon Communications. They come from very different family backgrounds but they are both very similar in various ways. I liked reading this book because you are always looking forward to reading the next shopaholic book in the entire series.
