I highly recommend this book set in Lapland. One of the best books I've read in 2008.

    A painful, beautiful novel.

I found the main character irritating, the writing choppy, and no real cohesive plot. This writer seems sophomoric at best, and could use a good editor.

Don't bother. Too many swear words. I stopped at page 5. Are ther any authors who can write intelligent novels without resorting to the crudest and most vulgar language? Yes, - JK Rowling, JRR Tolkien :)

This was a nice read. I've never read anything and didn't know a thing about the native people or Lapland and now I want to learn more. The story kept me interested and I cared about what would happen to Clarissa, who is the central character.

I had wanted to read this book for a long time. The title and the cover intrigued me. Finally it landed at one of my local libraries and I was able to obtain it. This is a sparse book, but filled with deep emotions on the inside of people, not so much on the outside. Clarissa is looking for her father and she travels to Lapland and Finland and above the arctic circle to find him and to find the mother that abandoned her, leaving behind a fiance she is pretty sure she will not return to. The book was well written, the story was well told, even if the style was sparse and cool.

Economical Prose. A tough, sad female character who finds out her Dad is not her real Dad and goes to Norway to find her real Dad. Touching and absorbing

“Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name” is a hauntingly beautiful book of such beauty that its fragrance will linger long after the last page has been turned.
