Okay, slow start but THANK GOD I stuck with it. Orson doesn't let us down!!! Although I admit that pondering time paradoxes usually leaves me with a headache, Orson Scott Card does the pondering and presents the why they cannot do this or that aspect for you. No headaches! Be warned, you'll find yourself wondering what you would change in history- the world's and your own!

*Pastwatch* is an entertaining book, but since it's Orson Scott Card, you can expect some moralizing. ^_^

I'm not sure how historically accurate his specific arguments are. If we didn't have slavery, would we have had human sacrifice instead? I read this right after *Guns, Germs, and Steel* so in many ways I was biased against the historical speculations from the beginning.

The general message of the book was interesting, however, and probably has some truth in it. As much...
