    not really a review. I just want to say, i love Orson Scott Card's work; particularly the way he writes series; this is the second series wherein i read the last book first because it was the first one i got my hands on. each book stands well enough on its own but makes you want to know about the history.. so i'm definitely hunting down the homecoming series;

    I'm not a fan of science fiction or fantasy but i loved ender's game (the entire ender and shadow series) and this book because Card's focus is the character or the philosophy behind the story. and that's what sells for me..

    just a comment: this book kind of parallel's children of the mind in its style and concept: i.e. the book is set in the time wherein the three sentient species (two of which have derogatory names and 'proper' names) are trying to learn to live together in harmony
