Going to give it another shot. My first attempt was very impressed initially and completely lost interest as any attempt to make the story plausible was given up with insane coincidences and too easy escapes.

Fantastic blend of science fiction and reality. I believe they refer to these as near-future stories. Make sure to read the afterword as well.

this was great; the twists and turns were gripping, and i liked the parallels to current day.

Quite unexpected Card book. This is by far the most un-Card book Cards written. It is a futuristic book on how American government can be breached. Quite a fascinating read.

Modern day civil war. Seriously scary. OSC makes you think this could really happen... and probably will.

This book is a must-read in today's political environment. Orson Scott Card presents a very reasonable tale of modern American Civil war. As always, Card is able to take a seemingly hoaky plot and turn it into a masterpiece.

This book kept my interest. I was disappointed that one of the main characters died. The ending was predictable..but the action was exciting. To read this you need to be interested in politics. Card explains his views well. I particularly enjoyed his afterward at the end of the book.
