The graphic novel has a unique way of explaining the hardships of fitting in is for three characters: the Monkey King, Chin-Kee, and Jin Wang. Each of the stories ends up tying into one another in a way that is very unexpected. The novel uses the comics to bring the stories voices to life. Which is unique abut the book is that it carefully unfolds each one of the characters lives within only a few pages. In each of the stories, each character must face some sort of obstacle. The author jumps back an forth between the three stories. he adds some very weird changes in the end that will make you stop and think about what the heck just happened. you will finish the book and want to read the sequel to it if there is one.

  • Jin Wang: He is an Asian American who has moved to a new school and and has to cope with a new school with new people becomes Danny's friend but soon they have friendship problems.
  • Chin-Kee: Cousin of Danny.
  • Danny: A teenager who has to move schools every year after the humiliating visit from his cousin, Chin-Kee.
  • Monkey King: The king of the monkeys, he studies Kung Fu in an attempt to become immortal.
  • Wei Chin: Friend of Jin, from Taiwan really a monkey.
