“I don't know why, but the best part about this version of Mr. Mandela is how his marriage to Winnie was politely dismissed. The second thing is that how understanbly Mr. Mandela's very active life is told on terms children can relate to and understand. It even helped clear up some of my own...”see full review » see other reviews »
“Great book about a courageous leader. A common thread with Mandela and other heroic leaders is the relentlessness combined with courage. Interesting passages in the book include the extensive use of "sleeper cells" and guerrilla warfare tactics to undermined apartheid. Tactics more recently associated with Al Qaeda, yet employed by heroes as well. The segments of the book detailing Mandella's time in jail impress you with his toughness and survival instincts. An amazing individual who earned the acclaim he has.”Rick Speciale wrote this review 10 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Amazingly well written and captivating autobiography on the life of a Xhosa tribe man awakening into an great african leader. Can't put it down once you start reading. I highly recommend it as a masterpiece in leadership, integrity, courage, dedication and many more qualities this man has proven to master. ”Robbert Bouman wrote this review Friday, November 8, 2013. “The book was about the life of the former president of South Africa.
I like the book because I got to know more about this person but it was difficult to read because they have many words I didn't understand.”
“Nelson Mandela is a personal here of mine. He was a hero of mine long before I read this book, which served to solidify my beliefs. A man of uncommon strength and courage who sacrificed much of his life for the cause of freedom, there simply are not words enough to capture the essence of this great man. Long Walk to Freedom is his personal account of the anti-apartheid movement and his role in it. I consider this book to be a must-read for anyone, period. This book changed my life.”Daniel Duehren wrote this review Sunday, July 21, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“An interesting childhood, but it's a bit dull after he runs away to Johannesburg.
I've paused reading it for the moment, but I'll get back to it later”
