“Wizard and Glass is the lull at the center of the Dark Tower series. It concludes the Blaine the Mono episode (one of my favorite in the series), then tells the story of Roland's adventures at age 14 in the Barony of Meijis and, of course, his relationship with Susan Delgado.
There are moments in this book that I thought were wonderfully written — "broken hearts heal" — and very true to a romantic story. In some ways, the love story in Wizard and Glass is a precursor of the type of writing that King uses in Lisey's Story.
Overall, I enjoyed this book less than most of the other Dark Tower books, however. The pacing seemed strangely off, and the ending episode in particular seemed lacking.”
