I read this awhile ago and it was written in 2006, I believe, but still I remember some of his predictions of financial disaster for the U.S and his maledictions against the Bush administration. He links the 3, oil, religon, and credit, in 3 previous economic powerhouses : 17th C. Spain, 18th C. Holland, and 19th C. U.K. From these histories, he extracts lessons and preditions for our situation. He supports the theories with copious facts.
