I am only in the middle of the book, but so far it is an interesting book. His description of this unique society makes you wonder about our own society

I read this book on a backpacking trip in the Sequoias and I highly recommend the book, backpacking, and Sequoia National Park.

It's a great way to learn basic geometry.
It's interesting to 'listen' the Square telling how his world of only 2 dimensions work.

A fun and super quick book to read. This book applies human attributes such as: morals, ethics, social class and even government structure to geometric shapes and their respective dimension.

I had seen on a documentary about time that a reading of this book (and understanding of the inhabitants of flatland's understanding of the 3-dimensional world) could help imagine our existence in a 4-dimensional world. I think that FLATLAND certainly does aid in that. Of course, this is a pretty heavy read (you'll have to stop at some passages to visualize in your mind the matter of discussion), but hats-off to Mr. Abbott for his ability to convey this.
