Summary/Review:
This volume of Azumanga Daioh, the last in a series that concerns six unusual Japanese high school girls and their comical adventures, covers the end of the girls' senior year. I reviewed this one since it was the one I own, but a reader new to the series would want to start with the first one since it covers why one of the characters is 4 years younger than the others and another uses Osakan dialect. This series (or at least this volume) wouldn't be inappropriate subject wise for upper elementary readers, but the Japanese cultural nuances that makes up so much of the story would confuse younger readers who can't make the best use of the explanations in the back of the book. The right-to-left orientation of this book isn't too bad since the pages are mostly in four-panel form, so if a student is interested in picking up manga this one would be good to start with.
