  “Hughes' poetry is accessible, interesting and engaging. While I find most poetry alternately too ethereal and fluffy or too ostentatious and melodramatic, Hughes touches on a range of topics from the racial to the amorous with a sincere clarity that pleasantly surpised me.”

  “I gave this book a rating of 5 because I love poetry and book about love. And this poem book has poems that is about love and has 2-3 poems about ghost and stuff. I enjoyed all of the poems. There were no poems i didn't like. They were all about the poet's life and stuff. What he felt, thought, and what he saw in his life. If you like poems then you should read this book.”

  “A frequent and favorite read, even though I'm not the most partial to poetry. The poems are funny and easy to understand while still being deep. A nice change from some of the earlier prim and proper poets.”
