Hot sex and an alpha male... that's about all I loved about the book.

I always have a problem with protagonists that act like Joss (Jocelyn) and 99% of the time, I end up strongly disliking the book because of said protagonist. Joss was one of the main problems in this book for me. I understood why she dealt with relationships, whether with friends, lovers, etc that way but 2/3 into the book, I was just fed up with it. It's only so much I can take of that behavior in novels. What made me a little peeved, is that she only figured out what she was doing whilst having a conversation with Ellie. All that therapy, Braden trying to tell her... it was just so anti-climatic that I stopped reading at that point and I took a break from the book.

I know that Joss wrapped herself in a shell so much that she just couldn't get out no matter how much everybody around her pried and pried. I got it and I understood it completely but I just couldn't help but be annoyed with her. The reason I think I stayed annoyed with her is because she didn't realize that she deserved love and to be happy and that she could come out of her shell without fear until about that last 100 pages of the book.

Now I'll explain why the book still got 3 stars from me... BRADEN, BRADEN TALKING, SEX, SEX WITH BRADEN... you see where I'm coming from? I'm not a prude by any standards and I've had that hot sex where you and your partner are in an overly sexually charged atmosphere so reading the sex scenes in the book, I had this smut-tastic smile on my face because I know just how hot that stuff is.

I just liked Braden on a whole, from the way he treated Joss, especially after he realized he loved her. The way he handled her refusing to admit she loved him even if it made both him and her miserable and I loved their HEA. Braden is the reason I gave the book all these stars because I loved that alpha male, sex on a stick but with a sweet heart persona that he was.

I heard there's a second book coming out to continue the story so I'm looking forward to see how that goes.
