this is an epic book about the tough men that serve as Navy Seals. Alpha men, who take on missions the ordinary Military men and women can't/ or won't. Best read of the year.

A Navy Seal's account of the mission to kill Bin Laden. Well written with lot's of insight into the training and activities of seals in general. An excellent read which is hard to put down once you start.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and do respect the author of this book who put a personal touch. There were a lot of things that he could not reveal for security reasons but this book was well written. It read well.

The mission that got Bin Laden, undertaken and brilliantly executed by the U.S. Navy SEALs.

I read No Easy Day: The First-hand Account to the Mission that Killed Osama Bin Laden. An Autobiography of a Navy SEAL by Mark Owen who was actually a Navy SEAL. I loved this book. It not only went through the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden, it went through other missions without giving away confidential information. It told the opinions of Owen that I thought a Navy SEAL would not have. Apparently, the SEALs don’t actually like Obama. They just have to follow orders. I also thought that the SEALs would have normal battles like the army with a few special missions, however that was not true. If you have ever played a Call Of Duty game, it shows seemingly impossible scenarios for a SEAL to be in. It seems that the events in the game would never happen in real life. The stuff in those games however are nothing like the stress and physical things happening to these SEALs in real life. They literally are an one team army that can go through anything. It amazes me that the stuff they go through seem to never happen, but always does. People are in many near death experiences. It really does amaze me. But the opinions on Osama himself is what made me love this book. The SEALS really hated him and after they killed him, they realized how bad of a person he was. Not only was he a terrorist, he was a terrible one. He was a coward. Owens stated, “I had more respect for Ahmed al-Kuwaiti in the guesthouse because at least he tried to defend himself and his family. Bin Laden had more time to prepare than the others, yet he still didn’t do anything. Did he believe in his own message? Was he willing to fight the war he asked for? I don’t think so. Otherwise, he would have at least gotten his gun and stood up for what he believed.” (Owen 249) I completely loved this book. The way the SEALS had to train and the missions they do give me more respect for them. I would definately recommend this book to anybody

Mark Owen, a name used for the book and a member of Seal team Six. The incredibly difficult mission to capture or kill the most wanted man on the face of the earth. Death defying with incredible acts of bravery.
Read the book in two days.

The writing in this book was less than stellar. I felt like the narrative lacked any sense of flow between its ideas and events, and there was often no logical connection from one paragraph to the next. Although touted as an exposé of the mission to capture/kill Osama Bin Laden, more than half the book was more about the author's career as a Navy Seal. Interesting for its information about the mission nonetheless, but at times I had to force myself to keep reading.

Don't know what all the fuss is from the Pentagon...so far. This is a so-so read and I'm kind of worried that I bought into the hype; we'll see at the end.
