“Too military-ish for me...and only half the book is about the Osama raid/death. But interesting nonetheless.”mickey wrote this review Wednesday, January 2, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“A great book, introducing a glance to the demanding life of a navy SEAL with a nice action part. Half of the book is "historical" and is well written.
The book flows really fast from the everyday liife to the operation of killing Bin Laden to the result the the continuation of life.
All in all - a great book.”
“On book club list for March 2013. Not a bad book. Like the insight into the brotherhood of being a soldier.

“An interesting, solid book about the life of a SEAL and the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound. I listened to the audiobook version and found it interesting the entire way through. I am not sure I learned anything new, per se. But I think it added to the level of color and richness of my understanding of things. I know there was a lot of controversy when the book came out about whether it was divulging confidential information. My sense (not being an expert) is that the answer is no since even in the details of the raid on bin Laden's compound, I learned very little new that hadn't already been reported. The author also makes a point early on about how he attempted to ensure that any operational details he reported were already available in the press. I could be wrong and maybe there are things he said that he shouldn't. But it didn't seem that way to me.
I am definitely looking forward to the movie Zero Dark Thirty to see one more depiction of the events.
