This is the third book in the Tales from Earth's End Saga and it's very different than the previous 2, The Angel & the Brown-eyed Boy and Lady Grace. They were more classic sci-fi adventure. This is a love story between Sam Baahuhd, the village headman, and Emily. I'll not tell you who she is––that's a spoiler. The entire book takes place in the underground bomb shelter on Piermont Manor. (See The Angel for more.) This is a love story to be remembered, one of humanities classics. How do you keep a love alive 300' below the earth's surface in an echoing cement mausoleum that you can never escape? That's the premise of the book, and it delivers on it. I'm so in love with Sam Baahuud. All sorts of situations you'd never expect come up. It's a thriller, and a love story. A story of passion that you'll remember.
