It was interesting to see how the adolescents in this novel adapted to their surroundings. Every child had their own story, and it was touching to hear it. It really puts that stage into perspective.

i loved that an 'adult' was 'let into' the world of a group of adolescents - what a wondrous opportunity! this taught me a lot about how much kids DO have it together, without needing adults to put their big brains onto their lives in an effort to 'fix' it. it helped me to shift my approach to one more of listening, supporting, coaching, bringing their gifts out. hard to do when works in a world of concrete measurable goals, the need to diagnose and 'treat' their life situations and challenges.

Very insightful book about the world of adolescents. It challenges a lot of preconceived ideas I had. How could I have forgotten so much?
