    • The Adventures of Ulvik the Troll: Book 2 contains the fourth, fifth and sixth of Ulvik’s adventures in tenth-century England. The fourth tale, and most dangerous yet, tells of the epic battle where three trolls and a hairy Viking with a bad cold are pitted against an army of two hundred Saxons. And Ulvik realises the importance of a good pair of shoes. Set shortly after the battle, the fifth tale recounts Ulvik’s journey to the city of Jorvik to meet the King of the Vikings. Despite annoying the king’s messenger and angering a pig farmer, it is a field of vegetables that proves the biggest obstacle to him reaching his destination. The sixth tale tells of his scary encounter with a very violent troll and the strange circumstances that led to Ulvik being chosen as a judge in the Ogglthorpe Best Pie competition. Curiously, it also clears up a mystery left over from the second tale. The book is about 12,000 words long, contains three tales, a handful of pictures and a map. It is suitable for children (8+) and adults. Note. Book II may be read without having first read Book I, although the books are intended to be read in order.
