THE MARRIAGE MISTAKE series hasn’t ‘wowed’ me since book one. For some reason, they just don’t do anything for me, yet I can’t seem to shake them.
What made me dislike this one so much was the fact that two thirds of the book was about Carina coming to work under Max, his attempts to stay away from her and her determination to have wild sex with someone.
All her life, Carina’s chased after Max. In THE MARRIAGE MISTAKE she goes back and forth between wanting Max and wanting to settle on anyone who will give her the time of day.
In addition the ruthless business running isn’t where Carina’s heart is. Wanting to pick up her paints again, she really struggles with self-esteem, family image and who she wants to be.
FINALLY and I do mean FINALLY Carina makes Max realize that if he doesn’t take her, someone else will.
One night is all she wants and nearly gets. Just as Max is deciding how to make his exit, momma Conte catches them.
Their culture demands they marry for their actions and when momma Conte brings in the big guns, they really have no choice. Of course, she sees what they won’t admit.
Tension arises with Michael and Max over Carina and his future with the business. Max wants a stake in the business he’s helped build.
Carina goes on a stale mate with Max. Tired of chasing and always falling into his bed, she turns to painting and begins her career.
It’s the birth of Michael and Maggie’s twins that finally get Max moving to win Carina over, but Carina has to find her place before she can trust in Max.
I just can’t seem to fall for the series like I did for book one.
“This was just a good romance to read. The story was kind of predictable, but not in a bad way. This made it an easy and nice book to read when I didn’t want to have to think too hard. I just wanted something that would send me off to some sweet dreams as I read myself to sleep. And it did just that…
Carina is Michael’s little sister. Everyone sees her that way especially her brother best friend Max. Now after collage she has come to work in the family business. The only problem is Max is now her boss and is charged with showing her the ropes. Will he ever see her as the woman she is or will he just stand by and watch her fall for another man…
I did not read the first two books in this series but I will tell you that I am going to as soon as possible. This is an easy, fluffy story and yet I enjoyed how well paced it is. It was a very nice way to end my day.

“This is the 2nd book I've read of Jennifer Probst and it was a hot page-turner!! The characters are inspiring and the romance was sizzling! A great read for any romance lover. Looking forward to reading a lot more of her work!!”Yash wrote this review Wednesday, February 13, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Marriage Mistake is the final book in Jennifer Probst's "Marriage to a Billionaire" trilogy. It combined to of my favorite plots - marriage of convenience and the heroine being in love with her brother's best friend. The author did a great job with Max and Carina's growing relationship. You also got to revisit favorite character from the previous stories (Marriage Bargain and Marriage Trap). I can't wait to read more from this author.
I would definitely recommend this trilogy to any romance reader.
“I actually liked this book the best out of all 3! And I was excited to see that the author left it open for a 4th book. I would definitely read it!”Mandekins wrote this review Thursday, December 13, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
