“Lonliness, saddness, torture, these are some of the feelings that Adeline Yen Mah had been feeling her whole life. Chinese Cinderella is about a little girl named Adeline and she has been tortured by her family ever since she was four. Her mother died right after she was biorn and she has been blamed of her death for as long as she can remember. Soon after that, Adeline's father married a beautiful, young, rich french chinese woman named Niang. Niang has hated Adeiline ever since they met. She has always put Adeline's siblings before her and treated her with much disrespect. Even though this book is so sad because of the truth that it displays, i believe that this book is insperational. It is insperational because of all of the hard stuggles that Adeline faces as a child and how she gets through them. Also, what had happened in the book, actually happened to someone.
I would recommend this book to people who have a warm heart and who look at a situation and try to find a better way to solve it. I believe that other readers will enjoy this story because it is a very moving story. My favorite part of the book was when Adeline won class president. I think that it help her motivation skills and really lifted her feelings. The character that i hated the most was Niag. She didnt care for Adeline one bit and was very unfair and cruel.”
