Born into a wealthy family as the fifth child, she is disliked by her older siblings and her father because her mother died after her birth. She is blamed for the mother's death and is only loved by her grandfather and her aunt Baba. The childlike voice and the naivity with which the author retells her childhood is heartbreaking and gives an interesting insight into the life of this neglected child. All the more the reader feels compelled to cheer for this little girl who does not give up and decides from this horrible childhood like phoenix out of the ashes and is to become a successful adult.”
