Here I was ready to read a book about food and that is not what this book is about. It was a real good read and yes I cried.

Protagonist is sorting through her family's past in Bridget Jones-esque kind of way. Readable and funny, plus you actually get some substance without much investment.

This was a good book. Nothing spectacular, but good. It features a loveable main character who struggles with food/weight issues, family issues, man issues. Epicures will enjoy the fact that the main character is a food writer and talks about cooking, recipes, restaurants.

This story brought me to tears. It was like I was reliving my own father's battle with cancer. Any book that brings out that kind of emotion is a good one, but I couldn't pass it on.

I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would when I looked at the cover. A book about eating? Cooking? Yes, and much more. A delightful story encompassing many human frailties, emotions, triumphs, and self-discovery, this book is a page-turner that captivated me from beginning to end.

I loved this book. I related to the family dynamics, dealing with a family member's death and Ellie's feelings about food and her body image. Jennie Shortridge hooked me as an ongoing fan of her books. Can't wait for her next one in "08"!
