  Brought together by their mysterious gifts, seven teenagers have been stranded in no-timean icy wasteland by their Secret Society. In an abandoned church they find a gathering of ghosted orphans, trapped for over one hundred years. To free these ghosts they will need to discover each of their identities, and to do that, this group of misfits will need to face the secrets that have haunted their own lives. It is the only way they will source their gifts. It is the only way they will survive. And time is running out.

  When sixteen-year-old Daffodil, who has escaped The Institution, and carries with her a history of secrets that would make the discovery of the Holy Grail seem mundane, finds herself stranded in an icy wasteland with six others by her secret society, she finds a gathering of ghosts in the abandoned church and realizes that to free these spirits, all that has been forgotten will need to be recovered and to do that, Daffodil will have to get this group of misfits to face the secrets that have tragically haunted their own lives. It is the only way they will source their gifts. It is the only way they can escape the Shadow. It is the only way they will survive. And time is running out.out.

  But Daffodil’s task is threatened by the Shadow – a teeming mass of hatred which formed when mysterious sightings began appearing in Blackwater 100 years ago. It feeds off misery and shame – and there is plenty of that here. But if it takes the ghosts souls, it also takes their existence-time and that is very dangerous for everyone – ghosted or not.
