I was very disappointed with this book because I had picked it up assuming it would be at the same level and quality as the "Programming Perl" book, also from O'Reilly. That title has everything this one lacks (albeit for Perl and not Python) -- an introduction to the language and, more importantly, a comprehensive language reference that explores the depths of Perl in a way that benefits even experienced Perl programmers.
