This is Dorothy's first Lord Peter Wimsey book featuring Harriet Vane. There are 6 more in this series. Earlier books of Lord Peter are as intriguing, well-written, and captivating as these later books.

The novel that introduced the elegant Lord Peter Wimsey and the intelligent, independent Miss Harriet Vane. Harriet is accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend; can Lord Peter save her from hanging? Will she allow him to help? Great British classic mystery. High school and up.
