“S P O I L E R S
Story starts off with Sydney getting ready to attend a wedding in another state. Sonya Karps wedding in fact. The way things ended with her and Adrian she was trying to avoid him as much as possible. In fact she made sure they would not leave out of the same city to attend the wedding but it was also to ensure the safety of Jill and the others. Travel plans changed at the airport and she ended up on the same plane. They talked about what happened and he agreed no matter what she says he’s going to love her from afar. When she got to the wedding she met with her fellow alchemists and tried to get answers about Marcus. Still not getting anywhere and Sage being the way she was, she needed answers now. Adrian offered to meet her in the woods so they can do a locator spell on Marcus.
Back in Amberwood Ms. Tellinger showed her an article of what was happening in Los Angeles that her sister may be sucking the youth and magic out of other witches that don’t really dabble in magic. She wanted Sydney to warn these girls and try to track down her sister Veronica under disguise as she may be a target as well. With that task she had to constantly be with Adrian as he needed use his spirit element to help disguise her.
On another trip she sought out and found Marcus who was trying to convince Sydney that the tattoo kept her controlled by the Alchemists to break from the tattoo and join his group. Before she could join; however, she needed to perform a task and obtain surveillance proving that the head of the Warriors and alchemists were meeting. Conflicted with all of these tasks Sydney began to question who she really was. She was now doing things that without a question could get her into a lot of trouble but at the same time she felt that no one should be able to control her other than her self. The ending was satisfying and I cannot wait for the next book. A lot happier on how this one ended than the last.
YESSS!!! I knew the last book left me hanging for a reason. Thank you Richelle Mead for making up for it in this book. You didn’t have me wait too long in this book for it either. In regards to Sydney and Adrian this book was the best of the bloodline series. I elaborate on the part that it is in regards to them two specifically because I’m not too keen about the witchcraft dabble. What really keeps me reading this series is the love story between the two. Obviously, if you read the VA series these two deserve their happiness. ”
