- Scarlet Benoit: Lives in Rieux, France. Had lived in Paris when she was a kid before her mother left and her father spent more time at the bar, then she moved to live with her grandmother. A french farmer who searches for her kidnapped grandmother with the help of Wolf. Has red hair. Stubborn, opinionated
- Emperor Kai: The newly coronated Emperor of the Eastern Commonwealth
- Roland: a tavern regular. He was often there.
- Emilie: tavern bar-maid who is on friendly terms with Scarlet, looks after Scarlet's farm and animals while she is away
- Gilles: Owner of a tavern
- Wolf: The mysterious street fighter who knows who may have taken Scarlet's Grandmother
- Linh Cinder: The Lunar cyborg on the run from Queen Levana, escapes from prison with Thorne, is Lunar Princess Selene
- Queen Levana: Queen of Luna(the moon) who has goals of gaining control of the earth, starting with a marriage alliance with Emperor KaiEVIL!!!
- Captain Carswell Thorne: A convicted thief. That helps Cinder escape and stay some what hidden.

- Hunter: street fighter, fights Wolf and loses
- Sybil Mira: Head thaumaturge (ambassador) who is currently living at the New Beijing palace. She is a Lunar. She is Queen Levana's second-in-command.
- Nainsi: Kai's robot.
- Jael: One of the lunar soldier leaders, a thaumaturge
- Ran Kesley: Wolf's brother. An omega
- Michelle Benoit: Scarlet's grandmother. Had served the country as a military spaceship pilot for twenty-eight years. Taken by the Order of the Pack (Queen Levana's army) because they think she was information on Princess Selene's whereabouts. Was part the only diplomatic mission to be sent from Earth to Luna in the last fifty years. She was the pilot that brought the Earthen officials. She was taken off Luna by a man named Logan Tanner. Logan and her had a liaison. Can't be controlled by Lunars because she has a bioelectricity security block.
- Dr. Dmitri Erland: The leading scientist of the royal letumosis research team, now resigned. Ran DNA tests on Cinder proving her bloodline. Snuck into her prison cell in book 1 and given her a new foot, and new hand that had fancy gadgets. Told Cinder to meet him in Africa. A Lunar.
- Chairman Huy: He was a stern charcter in the book. He really didn'y play a huge roll in the book, but he was more of an authority figure.
- Alak: owns a spaceship hanger in New Beijing
- Aimery: A thaumaturge.
- Luc Arman Benoit: Scarlet's father. An alcoholic
- Beta Wynn: member of the order of the pack. Killed Scarlet's father
- Rafe: member of the order of the pack
- Troya: member of the order of the pack
- Camilla: Queen of the United Kingdom
- Kamin: Africa's prime minister.
- Vargas: President of America
- Bromstad: European prime minister.
- Williams: Governor-general from Australia.
