“My biggest problem with this book is that it took 200 pages before stuff really started happening. i'm ok with set-up, but found it excessive. After that, it is an insane amount of action - completely non-stop.

The book is well written, with well developed characters and intrigue piled on top of action piled on top of mystery.
The world was obviously developed extensively by the author, to the Nth degree and the solidity of the world reflects well on the rest of the novel. It feels real. I'm sure the author spent time developing background for the story, and entire history of the world and each and every character.

She uses the fact that there are people who are aroused by abusing others to spy.
