I enjoyed this book. Lots of twists and turns. It is a good combination of romance and mystery. The story centers around Zachary Bennedict, a rich director, who was wrongly convicted of his wife's murder and Julie Mathison, a special education/ literacy teacher. Benedict kidnaps her in an...

Loved it. McNaught writes a good love story without the sap or weak heroines.

What started La Lola on her legendary trek to Romance Novel Goddess-hood, and the hot fiery kitten she is today? In one word: “Perfect.”

This was written by Judith McNaught, and all you need to know about the plot is that Boy (aka Zachary Benedict) is a world-famous Hollywood heartthrob/ director. Boy is accused of killing his skanky actress ex-wife, and sent to jail. Boy breaks out of jail, and stumbles across girl, who is an ordinary kindergarten teacher pumping gas when she gets abducted by him. (Yeah whatever. See that clothes peg? Suspend your belief from there.) Boy and girl go up to a cabin in snowy Colorado, where Zachary (aka father of La Lola’s unborn children) plans to hide from the cops.

Very emotional and captivating story. Beautifully written. Almost makes me want to be kidnapped too... almost =P

Book 2 in the Second Opportunities series:
"Convicted of murdering his wife, film director Zachary Benedict is driven to a desperate act. Escaping from prison, he has kidnapped Julie Mathison and spirited her away to a Colorado mountain hideout. For Benedict, it's a last-chance attempt to salvage his blown-apart existence. And for Julie, it's a shattering schism in the orderly world she has fashioned from her roothless childhood, the 'perfect' life that she has protected to fiercely. She never imagined she could be in such a terrifying position with such a complex and unpredictable man. Outraged and wary, Julie nonetheless finds herself tempted to believe in his innocence. And as a dangerous bond ensnares both captor and captive, Julie must unearth the truth that is buried in the shadows of the past."
