A standard must read if your a teacher and haven't done so. He's the foundation for our system, and a good strong one at that. However, the building is starting to crumble. That however is the builders fault, the foundation is still beautiful.

A tedious read but insightful all the same. A radical for his time, Dewey defines the progressive movement in education and a learning based on experience rather than memorization and recitation.

The book is small but he still used way too many chapters to say something that could have been said in one or two. Actually three. One titled 'Experience', one titled 'Education', and the final bringing them both together to solidify his argument.

Are you going to be a teacher? Read this. If not, stay away from our secret book.

this book is fantastic,l think it is essential for professions which work with human being.
In 1938 when John Dewey proposed that “I have emphasized the need for a sound philosophy of experience “. He attempted to establish a connection between experience and education so, he laid emphasis on “A theory of Experience “it means that the organic connection is between education and personal experience. Also he took into consideration that “not all experiences are equally educative”. Any experience is miss-educative that has the effect of arresting or distorting the growth of further experience.

Dewey briefly summarizes education must either move forward or backward , it means that the education system must move one way or another, either backward to the intellectual and moral standards of a pre-scientific age or forward to ever greater utilization of scientific method in the development of the possibilities of growing, expanding experience.

Insanely dry. You don't have to flip to the copyright date to figure out when this lullaby was written.
