- Uncle/Dr.Henry Blair: Blair and Houstons Doctor Uncle who raised Blair from about 12 years old and sent her to medical school. He's also well through out the Medical community as an author of Medical text books.
- Aunt Flo Blair: Uncle Henrys wife and ardent supporter of Blairs.
- Houston Chandler: Twin sister to Blair first engaged to Leander Westfield whom she dreamed all her life to be married to but then finds herself later married to Kane Taggert. Also disguises as an Old woman named Sadie to bring food to the poor miners in the miners camps.
- Alan Hunter: Blairs first fiance, whom gets into a contest for Blairs hand in marraige. with Leander and then runs away and marries Nina Westfield.
- Leander Westfield: Houstons fiance and later husband to Blair after she and Houston trick him by taking her place one evening to go to see the house of Kane Taggert. Also son to Reed Westfield and brother to Nina Westfield. And secretly involved in getting the union into the mine camps to see the terrible conditions and unfair business.
- Kane Taggert: wants to marry and does marry Houston. after she takes up for him in a public situation. where some of the women are being nasty because he didnt have an eye for em. the Richest man in town or so it seems.
- Nina Westfield: sister to the good Dr. Lee and also runs off with Blairs fiance and marries him. daughter to Reed Westfield attny at law.
- Reed Westfield: father of Leander and Nina Westfield. atty at law and member of the hospital board of St. Josephs there in Chandler, Colorado.
- Duncan Gates: stepfather to the twins and husband to Opal. also owner of the town brewery. always on Blair to quit her silliness as he calls of being a doctor and telling her she needs to stay home be a wife and raise children.
- Opal Gates: mother to Blair and Houston, wife to Duncan Gates
- Tia Mankin: friend of Houstons
- Mary Catherine: one of Houstons friends who works the switchboard and also eavesdrops and gossips.
- Francoise: a french woman bandit leader who took Blair for Houston or her men did anyway and was going to ask a ransom for her.also in cahootz with LeGault a bad guy who tries to frame Lee and Blair with robbing of the bank.
- LeGault: outlaw put in prison by Leander
