Kady Long is a wonderful, talented and resourceful chef in restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia. She’s about to marry the owner’s handsome son Gregory, a real estate agent. To everyone that knows her, she is the luckiest woman alive. Even though she is looking forward to the wedding, she still feels that something is missing. It was one of those days while preparing for the wedding, She finds an antique photo and a silk wedding dress in an antique tin and discovered a charming old photo of four strangers. With an irresistible desire to try on the delicate satin wedding dress and everything that goes with it. She gets dizzy and passes out.

When she wakes up in the wedding dress, she finds herself in Colorado, trying her very best to stop a man from dying by hanging not knowing what the man had done to deserve his ill fate. After saving his life and finding out she no more in Alexandria, Virginia the year 1990’s but in Legend, Colorado 1870’s and that the man she just saved is one of the people in the old photograph she found while putting on the wedding dress, but there is something else that is familiar about this gorgeous Cole Jordan.

Seeking for help to go back to her time and to what she knows. But finding no luck or a way back trough the Hieroglyphics. Kady finds herself being attracted to this man and ended up marring Cole Jordan instead, but there is a lot more about the man than she thought she knew. But Kady, gets her own back after finding out what her husband did to get her down the alter and legally his. By putting on a fabulous feast that would cost him the moon and get the whole town involved to help bring down this rich tyrant a peg or two. She starts to adjust to living in the past and helping Cole. But things are not always what they seem to be. Something was yet to be revealed that would change her life forever.

When he finally realizes that he cannot make her love him, he forcefully takes her to the rock and makes her go home but just before the portal closes she makes a last minute leap back into his arms.
They go home and spend a few more weeks together until one day Ruth shows up and sends for Kady and she goes reluctantly and Cole makes her go alone but asks her to have Ruth to come back.

Every thing changes when she and Ruth sit down to tea and she no longer is in 1870''s but now in 1890s.
and Cole is now dead 25 years. and had never lived passed age of 9. Ruth implores Kady to go back and help her family but she only has 6 weeks from the day she returns to her time and place to contact Ruths decendants.

With all the information Ruth has given her and a bit of a new outlook on life, her life is changing and she is changing more than she realizes untill her long time friend points things out to her. They argue and her friend goes home in a huff. A few weeks later things have really begun to sink in and she soon with another incident with her mother in law to be realizes this is not what she wants for her life. And in their separating she notices a womans name Bambi on some tickets that Gregory has flashed to her in promise of an outing for them. This really seals the deal and she is finally done with their relationship. She walks out on the restaurant and Gregory's life.

She then remembers what it was that Ruth had asked her to do and sees that there is only 3 days left to go to NewYork and find this decendant. She only has $6,000 to her name and no job. She gets there and does some research and finds a sword shop of sorts and finds Mr. C.T. Jordan. But when she gets there
they wont let her see him but they wont throw her out either. Then she waits and finally takes matters into her own hands and seeks him out. Finding him she sees that he is unreceptive and refuses to believe her but she besides her physical attraction to him and him to her leaves a distinct impression on him.

Now she is back at her hotel room and recieves some strange packages first thinking they are more attempts from Gregory to "win" her back but she soon finds some one else is contacting her an attourney who is conected with Ruth Jordan.
They meet and he gives her a letter from Ruth, however Kady cant seem to recruit Tariks help so she goes to Colorado alone with not much to loose.

When she finds her self being shot at by some old man that she cant yet see. The mysterious man in her dreams shows up on a horse and saves the day. Tarik takes her to the rock and when she isnt looking the window opens up to the old Legend. and when she turns to look it disappears. When finally Tarik is able to get to the window/portal he goes through and nearly gets himself hung and goes back a second time and finds himself after saving his family from the terrible tragedy meets his great great great grandfather.
Worried after Luke comes back in really bad shape, Kady gets him to sleep and goes after Tarik herself and meets the 9 year old Cole. She tells him he must take care of the town and watch after the people no matter what happens. She and Tarik return to begin their new life together.

  • Kady Long: a chef who graduated with high honors but has been found out by a kaniving restaurant owner whose son has soon as she mentione leaving came to the steak house and began to woo her.She fell for it. Now she has gone back in time and fallen for a man who died when he was 9, but somehow they had a romance and his body then was an adults. His grandmother has pleaded with her after showing her that he does not actually exists after the age of 9 to go back to her time and set things right with her remaing decendants. She meets this decendant.
  • Jane: a long time friend whose parents helped finish raisning Kady when they died during her childhood. also a collegue who went to school with her.
  • Debbie: another collegue from cooking school who is her friend.
  • Mrs Norman: owner of "Onions" steak house. and the mother of Gregory, Kadys fiance.
  • Gregory Norman: Kadys rake fiance who is womanizing and patronizing and schemizing. son of Mrs Norman owner of "Onions" steakhouse.
  • Cole Jordan: Grandson of Ruth Jordan who is the only survivor of a terrible tragedy that left several dead over 100yrs before Kady lived. He died at age 9 but when Kady encounters him he is a grown man.
  • Towns people: many who seem to be run by Cole and will do out of fear of loosing their jobs what ever he asks them to. they soon are won over by Kady and they all love her in the end.
  • C.T. Jordan: Cole Tarik Jordan is named after his Nephew and his brother. as his father slept with his mother Coles grandmother just before he died. And C.T. was concieved. He ran away at 16 because of his mothers hatred toward the town that killed nearly all her family as well as others. This C.T. has another decendant by the same name and is the great great grandson of Ruth.
  • C. T. Jordan: This is the CT of the 1990's and he isnt quickly receptive of Kady's message.
